Kimberly Soltys - 1998
Little Ladies and Lace was born in the summer of 1997 as a project for my Senior year of home school. It was a course in which I learned the fundamentals of business and the development of a product. Since I loved to sew and had collected dolls from early childhood, selling my own doll dress designs seemed a logical choice for this business. However, the business out grew it's intended goal and took on a life of it's own. By the summer of 1998 with a house full of dolls, clothing, accessories and a stream of loyal customers, it was evident that my business had outgrown its home run status. A choice had to be made to either end the project or to move to a shop. I took a leap of faith into the real business world. With Mom as my partner, a new business was born.
Little Ladies and Lace continues to grow as we now expand to the web with an ever growing inventory and the desire to share with you the love of dolls. A new emphasis has been introduced with the addition of our new heirloom sewing, quilting and fashion fabric department.
If you ever find yourself in Central New York, feel free to visit our shop in its quaint village setting. We would love to meet you!
